Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your Skechers Razor Elite boots, ensure you lace them correctly for a snug and secure fit. The U-Throat design and flat knit yarn closure are engineered for an adaptable fit. Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling firmly but not excessively tight, ensuring even tension across your foot. A proper lacing technique will maximize the anatomical internal heel counter's lockdown effect, preventing unnecessary foot movement inside the boot.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed as Firm Ground (FG) Football Boots. They are engineered with a soleplate and stud configuration optimized for natural grass pitches that are firm and dry. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or very hard surfaces is *not recommended* as it can lead to premature wear of the studs, reduced performance, and potential injury. Always check the pitch conditions before use.
Care
Proper care is essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your Skechers Razor Elite boots.
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Never dry your boots by direct heat (e.g., radiators, hair dryers), as this can damage the materials, especially the synthetic upper and soleplate. Instead, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag for protection during transport.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the studs, soleplate, and upper for any signs of wear or damage. Early detection can help prevent further issues.
