The Clarks Fawn Lay trainers are designed for young children who need a supportive, durable shoe that promotes natural foot development from the classroom to the playground. These trainers offer significant benefits for growing feet, including a specialized child-specific last and 14mm of intentional growing room, though they are primarily intended for casual and school environments rather than high-intensity athletic sports.

Clarks designs these shoes with the extra room already built into the last. You should select the child's current measured size for the correct fit.
Yes, the black colourway and low-profile design make them an excellent choice for most school uniform requirements.
The interior features moisture-wicking and odour control technology. Airing them out after use is usually sufficient; do not submerge the shoes in water.
The leather is durable, but not fully waterproof. It can handle light splashes, but should be dried thoroughly if caught in heavy rain.
The interior lining and padding are integrated into the shoe's construction. It is recommended to keep the original structure intact for best fit.
Check the hook-and-loop surface for lint, threads, or dirt and remove any debris with a small brush or tweezers.
Use a leather-safe cleaner or a matching black shoe polish to restore the finish and protect the outer material.
To ensure the longevity of your Clarks Fawn Lay trainers, wipe the leather exterior clean with a damp cloth after outdoor use to prevent mud buildup on the reinforced mudguard. If the shoes become wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the leather to crack. The riptape strap should be checked periodically for debris to ensure it maintains its grip. Because these shoes are designed with a specific natural gait last, ensure the child is wearing appropriate socks that do not bunch or slip, which can interfere with the internal fit and comfort.
