Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Adizero Boston 12 is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure you use the lace closure to achieve a snug, comfortable fit around your midfoot. Experiment with different lacing techniques if you experience pressure points or heel slip. A runner's knot can help secure the heel.
- Break-in Period: While often comfortable out of the box, allow for a few shorter runs to let the shoe adapt to your foot and for you to get accustomed to the shoe's unique feel, especially the tuned stiffness of the ENERGYRODS.
Compatibility
- Running Surface: Best suited for road running, track work, and paved paths. The outsole provides good traction on these surfaces.
- Foot Type: Designed for a regular fit. Runners with specific needs (e.g., severe overpronation) may require additional support from insoles, though the shoe provides a neutral and stable platform.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your running shoes and maintains their performance:
- Cleaning: Gently clean the mesh upper and textile lining with a soft brush or cloth, mild soap, and cold water. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating your Adizero Boston 12 with other running shoes. This allows the cushioning to decompress and can prolong the lifespan of all your pairs.
