Troubleshooting

Visible brush strokes or roller marks

Ensure you are using high-quality tools and maintain a 'wet edge' while painting to allow the paint to level correctly.

Paint not sticking to surface

Verify the surface was properly cleaned and primed according to manufacturer guidelines before application.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptionally flat matte finish reduces glare and highlights
Highly durable and resistant to scuffs in busy areas
Suitable for a wide range of surfaces including metal and wood
Easy to clean surface simplifies household maintenance
Sophisticated color palette inspired by natural elements

Cons

Specialized alkyd formula requires careful handling
Larger 5L size may be excessive for smaller accent projects
Requires proper surface preparation for optimal adhesion

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the best results with Dead Flat, ensure the target surface is clean, dry, and free of debris. For new surfaces, use an appropriate Farrow & Ball primer to ensure optimal adhesion. When applying, use high-quality brushes or rollers to avoid streaking. As an alkyd-based product, ensure proper ventilation in the room during and after application. Once cured, the finish is robust; however, avoid using abrasive cleaning pads or harsh chemicals, as a soft cloth with mild soap is sufficient for routine cleaning of scuff marks.
