The Mountain Warehouse Torrent Taped Seam Waterproof Jacket is an ideal choice for parents seeking reliable, everyday weather protection for their children during outdoor play or school commutes. This durable, nylon-based jacket offers a strong balance of waterproof performance and breathability to keep active kids comfortable; however, it is designed as a lightweight outer layer and may require additional insulating layers underneath in very cold temperatures.

Yes, it can be machine washed on a cool, gentle cycle.
The jacket features an integrated hooded neckline; it does not detach.
It is rated at 2000mm, which is suitable for light to moderate rain, but it may soak through during prolonged heavy downpours.
No, it is a waterproof shell designed for rain protection and wind resistance, not for thermal warmth.
We recommend choosing based on your child's age; since it is a shell, you may want to size up slightly if you plan to wear thick sweaters underneath.
Ripstop is a reinforced nylon fabric designed to be resistant to tearing, which is perfect for active kids.
The DWR coating may have worn off; consider re-treating the garment with a waterproof spray wash-in product.
Ensure the child is not wearing too many layers that trap heat, or check if the jacket is being worn in conditions exceeding its breathability capacity.
Check for fabric caught in the teeth or debris; gently clear the track and ensure the zip is aligned correctly before pulling.
No specific setup is required; simply choose the correct size based on your child's age and fit preferences. To ensure the jacket maintains its waterproof integrity, wash it on a cool cycle with minimal detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can strip the technical DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating from the nylon fabric. For drying, hang the garment to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can degrade the seam tape or fabric materials over time.
