Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced snugly from bottom to top. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points or desire a more personalized fit. A secure lace-up prevents your foot from sliding inside the boot, maximizing stability and comfort.
- Break-in: New boots, especially performance-oriented ones, benefit from a break-in period. Wear them for short training sessions initially before using them in a full match to allow the K-BETTER upper to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These Puma King Ultimate boots are specifically designed with Firm Ground (FG) outsoles and moulded conical studs. This means they are optimized for use on natural grass pitches that are firm and dry. While some players may use them on artificial grass (AG), their performance and durability are best on their intended surface. Using them on inappropriate surfaces may lead to premature wear or reduced traction.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the K-BETTER upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and mud. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used gently. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the material.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause the material to crack or stiffen. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are clean and dry before storing them.
- Avoid Harsh Surfaces: While durable, consistently playing or walking on abrasive surfaces like concrete or asphalt can significantly accelerate wear on the studs and soleplate.
