The Puma Deviate Elite 4 is a high-performance racing shoe designed for adult runners who want to maximize their speed and efficiency on race day. By incorporating elite-grade foam and carbon fiber technology, these shoes offer exceptional energy return and a propulsive ride; however, because they are tuned specifically for high-tempo racing, they may lack the daily comfort provided by heavier, more cushioned training models.

While durable, they are specifically tuned for racing and high-tempo workouts. For daily mileage, a more cushioned training model is often preferred.
Most runners find they need a few shorter runs to adapt to the propulsive feel and increased energy return of the carbon plate.
Use a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary to remove road grime, then let them air dry.
The Deviate Elite 4 features a performance racing fit, which may feel snugger than casual trainers; consider this if you prefer extra room in the toe box.
The PUMAGRIP is designed primarily for road surfaces, though it performs well on packed, smooth paths.
Ensure the laces are secured snugly to lock the midfoot in place, as the lightweight upper requires a precise fit.
Rotate your shoes to allow the NITROFOAM Elite to recover its shape over 24-48 hours between hard sessions.
To ensure the longevity of your Puma Deviate Elite 4, it is recommended to keep them for speed work and race days rather than daily training. After use, allow the shoes to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can degrade the foam properties. If the shoes become muddy, wipe them down with a soft, damp cloth; do not submerge them in water or place them in a washing machine, as this can compromise the adhesives and material integrity. Store them in a cool, dry place to maintain the elasticity of the foam.
