Full details

The New Balance 740 V2 is an ideal choice for style-conscious adults seeking a comfortable, retro-inspired daily sneaker. FAQs

Are the New Balance 740 V2 trainers true to size?

Yes, they generally follow standard adult sizing. It is recommended to stick to your usual New Balance size.

Can I use these for gym workouts?

These are lifestyle trainers. While they are fine for light activity, they are not designed for high-impact training or technical performance sports.

How do I clean the silver overlays?

Wipe the silver overlays gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh solvents that might strip the finish.

Are these shoes water-resistant?

No, the breathable mesh upper is designed for airflow, which means they are not waterproof and are best worn in dry conditions.

What is the inspiration behind the 740 V2 design?

The 740 V2 is a revival of New Balance's early 2000s running archives, focusing on the popular Y2K aesthetic.

Troubleshooting

Visible dirt accumulation on the mesh upper

Use a soft brush to gently lift debris, then dab the area with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

Loss of internal cushion support

Consider replacing the original insole with a third-party orthotic insert if you require additional arch support.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your New Balance 740 V2 trainers last, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust from the mesh. For stubborn spots, use a mild soap solution and a damp cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals.
Drying: Always air dry at room temperature. Never place trainers near direct heat sources like radiators, as this can damage the synthetic overlays and adhesive.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading of the green and silver panels.
Compatibility: These trainers fit true to size for standard adult feet, but consider wearing athletic-style socks to optimize the fit and moisture management.
