Setup, Compatibility & Care
To get the most out of your Puma King Ultimate FG/AG Football Boots, follow these guidelines for setup, ensuring compatibility, and proper care.
Setup
- First Wear: When first trying on your boots, ensure you are wearing the type of football socks you typically use during play. The leather upper is designed to mold to your foot, so an initial snug fit is expected.
- Lacing: Lace your boots firmly but not overly tight. Over time, the leather will stretch and conform, so adjust lacing as needed for optimal comfort and lockdown.
- Break-in Period: It's recommended to wear your new boots for a few short training sessions before a full match. This allows the premium leather to soften and adapt to the unique shape of your foot, providing a truly personalized and comfortable fit.
Compatibility
- Surface Type: These boots are equipped with an `FG/AG outsole`, making them suitable for use on both Firm Ground (FG) natural grass pitches and Artificial Grass (AG) synthetic turf fields. They are not recommended for indoor courts or extremely soft, muddy natural ground.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Immediately after playing, use a soft brush or a damp cloth to remove all mud and dirt from the upper and outsole. This prevents material degradation and maintains traction.
- Air Dry Naturally: Remove any insoles (if removable) and stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, which can dry out and crack the leather.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically, especially if the leather appears dry, apply a specialized leather conditioner or cream. This will keep the leather supple, prevent cracking, and maintain its natural feel and durability. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a breathable boot bag, to protect them from dust and maintain their condition.
