Full details

The Saucony Triumph 24 is a high-mileage trainer designed for adult runners who prioritize maximum comfort and plush cushioning during long-distance training sessions. Featuring the innovative incrediLUX foam, this shoe offers a lighter, more responsive ride compared to its predecessors, though its focus on extreme softness may feel less stable for runners who require rigid motion control.

FAQs

Is the Saucony Triumph 24 good for marathons?

Yes, it is specifically designed for high-mileage training and provides the necessary cushioning to support long-distance endurance running.

Does this shoe provide arch support?

The Triumph 24 is a neutral trainer. While it offers a secure fit and plush comfort, it does not provide corrective motion control for those with severe overpronation.

Can I use these for speed work or racing?

While responsive, this shoe is prioritized for comfort and distance. You may find lighter, firmer racing flats more suitable for interval speed work.

How long should the foam last?

Depending on your weight and running surface, you can typically expect between 400 to 500 miles before the cushioning properties begin to diminish.

How does the fit compare to previous Triumph models?

The Triumph 24 maintains a standard, secure fit, but the use of the new incrediLUX foam may provide a slightly more accommodating, softer feel in the midfoot.

Troubleshooting

Feeling of excessive heat inside the shoe

Ensure you are using technical synthetic running socks rather than cotton, which traps moisture.

Excessive wear on the outsole

Check your running gait to ensure you are not dragging your feet, and rotate with another pair of shoes to allow the foam to decompress between runs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior cushioning for long-distance comfort
Lightweight construction reduces fatigue
Highly breathable upper materials
Durable outsole for varied road surfaces

Cons

Not intended for high-stability or motion control needs
Soft foam may feel less responsive for speed work
Limited to road-specific use cases

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Saucony Triumph 24 trainers maintain their performance, follow these guidelines:

Break-in Period: While the SRS sockliner offers immediate comfort, wear the shoes for shorter walks or runs before attempting long-distance training.
Surface Compatibility: These are designated road trainers; avoid using them on technical trail surfaces to prevent damage to the upper mesh.
Cleaning: Hand wash using a soft brush, warm water, and mild detergent. Remove the sockliner to dry separately. Avoid using a washing machine or tumble dryer as heat can compromise the foam integrity.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to prevent premature material degradation.
