FAQs
Are these trainers true to size?
Yes, the Nike Downshifter 13 typically fits true to standard UK shoe sizing.
Can I use these for long-distance running?
These are ideal for light jogging and everyday wear, but for marathon-level distances, you may prefer a shoe with more specialized stability features.
How do I remove scuffs from the silver detailing?
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges which may dull the silver finish.
Is the insole removable?
Yes, most Nike Downshifter models feature a removable insole if you need to insert your own custom orthotics.
Are these shoes water-resistant?
No, they feature a breathable mesh upper, so they are not designed to keep feet dry in rainy conditions.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt on the white mesh
Use a soft-bristled brush or damp cloth with mild soap; dab rather than rub to avoid pushing dirt into the fibers.
Slippage on very smooth surfaces
Ensure the outsoles are clean and dry, as the rubber grip is designed for standard road and gym surfaces.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Nike Downshifter 13 trainers stay in optimal condition:
- Breaking In: Wear them for short durations indoors before taking them on long outdoor runs to allow the foam to adapt to your foot shape.
- Cleaning: Because of the white exterior, spot clean using a soft cloth, lukewarm water, and mild soap. Avoid machine washing or harsh chemical detergents, as these can degrade the adhesive and mesh materials.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration of the white fabric.
- Replacement: Replace your trainers every 300-500 miles, or when you notice visible breakdown in the midsole cushioning or outsole tread.
