The Snowdon Timber 4x1 treated board is a versatile, durable solution designed for DIY enthusiasts and professional contractors working on outdoor garden structures, fencing, or cladding projects. These boards are pressure-treated to provide long-term resistance against rot, decay, and moisture damage, ensuring structural integrity in harsh weather conditions. While they are lightweight and easy to install, users should note that they require proper sealing or staining if exposed to extreme direct sunlight to prevent natural wood weathering over time.

Yes, they are suitable for raised beds, though some gardeners choose to line the inside with a breathable landscape fabric as an extra precaution.
It is not strictly necessary, but applying a sealant will help prevent the wood from fading to a silver-grey color and provides extra moisture resistance.
A standard hand saw, jigsaw, or circular saw will work easily on these boards due to their manageable thickness.
They are ideal for deck edging or skirting, but may not be robust enough for heavy-traffic load-bearing deck floorboards.
It means the wood has been placed in a pressurized tank where preservatives are forced deep into the wood fibers to protect against rot and decay.
Ensure the board is securely fixed at both ends and in the center. Avoid storing timber in direct, hot sun for extended periods before installation.
Ensure you are using exterior-grade, galvanised, or stainless steel hardware. Standard interior screws will corrode when reacting with pressure-treated wood.

Care and Maintenance:
While pressure-treated, the wood remains a natural product. To extend its lifespan and maintain color, apply a high-quality wood preservative, stain, or water-repellent sealant at least once every two years. This prevents the wood from silvering under UV light and helps maintain its original structural density.
