Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure you use appropriate woodworking tools for cutting and shaping. When fixing, use corrosion-resistant screws or nails suitable for treated timber. For handrail applications, ensure secure attachment to posts using robust brackets or fasteners. For baserail use, fix securely to deck joists or fence posts.
Compatibility: This handrail/baserail is compatible with most standard decking and fencing systems. It can be integrated into new builds or used to upgrade existing outdoor structures. Ensure any fasteners used are compatible with treated wood to prevent premature corrosion.
Care: While pressure treated for longevity, occasional cleaning with mild soap and water will help maintain its appearance. Inspect regularly for any signs of wear or damage. If a different color is desired, it can be stained or painted after allowing the timber to dry thoroughly. For maximum longevity, periodic reapplication of a suitable wood sealant is recommended, especially on cut ends.
