Can this lamp be used in a child's room?

Is the Grey color a matte or gloss finish?

The Anglepoise Type 75 Mini Table Lamp in Grey features a high-quality gloss paint finish, giving it a sleek and reflective appearance.

Is this lamp energy-efficient?

Troubleshooting

Lamp won't turn on.

Ensure the power plug is fully inserted into a working electrical outlet. 2. Check the bulb; it might be loose or burnt out. Replace if necessary. 3. Verify the switch is in the 'On' position.

Light flickers or is dim.

Check the bulb for proper seating; tighten if loose. 2. Try a different bulb to rule out a faulty bulb. 3. Ensure the lamp is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a dimmer switch or extension cord that might be incompatible.

Arm or shade won't hold position.

The constant tension springs are designed for durability. If the lamp doesn't hold its position, it might indicate an issue with the spring mechanism. Contact Anglepoise customer support for assistance, referencing your lifetime warranty.

Lamp gets hot during use.

Ensure you are using a bulb that does not exceed the maximum wattage specified on the lamp's label. Using a bulb with lower wattage or an LED equivalent can reduce heat output.

Scratches or blemishes on finish.

For minor surface marks on gloss paint, a specialized polish for painted surfaces may help. For deeper scratches or chrome issues, contact Anglepoise support for advice, as significant damage may not be easily repairable by the user.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional Flexibility: Constant tension spring mechanism allows for smooth and precise light positioning.
Durable Build: High-quality materials like cast iron, steel, and chrome ensure long-lasting performance.
Space-Saving Design: Its mini size is perfect for tight spaces without compromising on functionality.
Elegant & Iconic Style: A timeless aesthetic that adds sophistication to any interior.
Energy-Efficient Operation: Helps reduce power consumption, beneficial for both the environment and utility bills.
Lifetime Peace of Mind: Comes with a lifetime warranty, highlighting manufacturer confidence in durability.

Cons

Limited Illumination Spread: As a 'mini' lamp, its light output is best suited for focused tasks or smaller areas, not broad room illumination.
Specific Aesthetic: The classic industrial-modern design, while elegant, may not seamlessly fit all decor styles.
Premium Weight: The cast iron base, while providing stability, adds significant weight, making it less portable for frequent repositioning between rooms.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

The Anglepoise Type 75 Mini Table Lamp is designed for straightforward setup.

Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
Placement: Choose a stable, flat surface for the lamp, such as a desk, table, or shelf.
Bulb Installation: > Info needed: [Confirm bulb type and wattage, e.g., "Screw in a compatible E14/SES (Small Edison Screw) bulb, max 20W LED or 60W incandescent. Refer to the lamp's label for exact specifications." If bulb included, mention this.] Ensure the power cord is unplugged during installation.
Connect Power: Plug the lamp's power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
Adjust: Use the adjustable arm and shade to position the light as desired. The constant tension springs will hold it securely.

Compatibility

Electrical: Compatible with standard electrical outlets in your region (e.g., 120V in North America, 230V in Europe/UK). Ensure the bulb voltage matches your local supply.
Bulb Type: > Info needed: [Specify bulb type and maximum wattage. e.g. "Requires an E14 (SES) bulb. Always check the lamp's internal label for maximum wattage to prevent overheating."]

Care & Maintenance

To ensure your Anglepoise Type 75 Mini Table Lamp maintains its pristine appearance and functionality:

Cleaning: Wipe the lamp's surfaces with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes, as these can damage the gloss paint finish and chrome plating.
Dusting: Regularly dust the lamp to prevent build-up, which can dull the finish and impact light output.
Springs: The constant tension springs are designed for durability and should require minimal maintenance. Avoid disassembling the spring mechanism.
Cord Inspection: Periodically check the power cord for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. If damaged, discontinue use immediately and seek professional repair.
