Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your jacket remains waterproof, proper maintenance is essential. Always follow the garment's wash label; generally, you should use non-detergent technical cleaners rather than standard laundry soap, as soap can degrade the DWR coating. Avoid fabric softeners entirely.
For best performance:
- Cleaning: Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Close all zips and adjust straps before washing.
- Drying: Air dry whenever possible. If the care label permits, a brief tumble dry on low heat can help reactivate the DWR finish.
- Storage: Store the jacket in a cool, dry place. Avoid keeping it compressed in a stuff sack for long periods to prevent fabric fatigue.
- Compatibility: This jacket is designed to be worn as a shell. It is compatible with mid-layer fleeces or thermal base layers for those needing additional warmth in winter conditions.
