FAQs

What is the primary function of the 2-in-1 design?

The 2-in-1 design provides the lightweight ventilation of traditional athletic shorts with the secure, supportive fit of a compression liner.

How do I activate the ChillTek cooling?

ChillTek technology is sweat-activated; it begins to provide advanced cooling as your body temperature rises and moisture is produced during exercise.

Can I use these shorts for swimming?

These shorts are designed for high-intensity gym and track training; they are not intended for use as swimwear.

Are the pockets deep enough for a smartphone?

The slide-in pockets are designed for gym accessories. For valuables like a phone, ensure they fit securely or use the internal zip pocket for added safety.

How should I wash these to keep them in good condition?

Wash in cold water, avoid fabric softeners, and air dry to maintain the performance features of the technical polyester fabric.

Troubleshooting

Cooling effect feels less noticeable

Wash the garment without heavy fabric softeners which can clog the technical fibers responsible for moisture-wicking and cooling.

Waistband slipping during workout

Ensure the internal drawcord is tied securely and check that the elastic band has not lost its tension due to improper high-heat drying.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Integrated liner provides excellent support and coverage
ChillTek cooling works effectively during intense training sessions
Functional pocket layout including secure zip storage
High-mobility design supports complex athletic movements

Cons

Requires careful laundering to preserve technical fabric properties
Fixed liner may not be preferred by those who favor loose-fit shorts
Polyester material requires strict adherence to care labels

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Castore Apex shorts, always check the internal care label. Due to the technical nature of the ChillTek cooling fabric, wash in cold water with similar colors. Avoid using heavy fabric softeners, as these can coat the moisture-wicking fibers and reduce the cooling efficiency of the shorts. Air drying is highly recommended to maintain the integrity of the elastic waistband and the shape of the internal liner. Ensure the shorts are fully dry before storing them, especially if they have been exposed to high levels of sweat, to prevent material degradation.
