Keep the sacks in a cool and dark place below 10 degrees Celsius and check them regularly to remove any sprouting potatoes.
Yes, hessian sacks can be used for onions, carrots, and other root vegetables as the fabric allows air to circulate effectively.
Yes, they can be washed and reused for many seasons before being composted at the end of their use.
Yes, the natural woven fabric blocks most light while still allowing air to pass through, reducing the greening of the potatoes.
Yes, they are fully compostable and will break down naturally when added to a compost heap.
The standard sack holds up to 25kg, and the large sack holds up to 50kg.
Potatoes can be stored for up to 6 months in these sacks if kept in the correct cool and dark conditions.
Ensure sacks are stored in a consistently cool (below 10°C) and dark environment. Check potatoes more frequently and remove any that begin to sprout.
Improve ventilation in the storage area. Ensure sacks are not placed directly on damp surfaces. Check for any breaches in the sack that might be allowing moisture in.
Wash the sacks thoroughly with cold water and allow them to air dry completely before storing. Ensure no decaying potato matter remains within the fabric.
Setup: No assembly required. Simply fill the sacks with dry, unblemished potatoes. Ensure potatoes are clean but not washed, as excess moisture can encourage rot.
Compatibility: Ideal for storing potatoes, onions, and other root vegetables. Ensure the storage location is cool, dark, and well-ventilated.
