FAQs
Is the parasol base included with the HAY Terrazza Parasol?
No, the HAY Terrazza Parasol Base is sold separately. It is essential for providing stability to the parasol during use.
What material is the canopy made from?
The canopy is made from durable, UV resistant polypropylene fabric.
Can I use this parasol in windy conditions?
The parasol should be closed and secured in windy conditions. While the aluminum pole and base offer stability, strong winds can damage the parasol. Always use a sturdy base.
How do I clean the parasol fabric?
Clean the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Allow it to air dry completely before closing or storing.
What are the available shapes and sizes?
The Terrazza Parasol is available in square, hexagon, and octagon shapes, with a range of sizes to suit different outdoor spaces.
Is there a cover available for the parasol?
Yes, a HAY Terrazza Parasol Cover is available as an optional accessory to protect the parasol when not in use.
What is the warranty period for the HAY Terrazza Parasol?
Please refer to the retailer or HAY's official website for specific warranty information, as it can vary by region and purchase date.
Troubleshooting
Parasol is unstable or wobbly.
Ensure the parasol pole is securely fastened in the HAY Terrazza Parasol Base. Verify that the base itself is placed on a level surface and is of adequate weight for prevailing weather conditions. Consider using a heavier base if necessary.
Canopy does not open or close smoothly.
Check for any obstructions around the opening/closing mechanism. Ensure the pole is firmly seated in the base. If the issue persists, consult the product manual or contact customer support.
Fabric appears faded or discolored.
While UV resistant, prolonged extreme sun exposure can eventually cause fading. Ensure the parasol is covered when not in use for extended periods and stored correctly during the off-season. Gentle cleaning may help restore some vibrancy.
Water pooling on the canopy.
The fabric is designed to be water-repellent, but prolonged rain can lead to pooling. Ensure the parasol is slightly tilted when closing if possible, or allow it to dry completely before folding to prevent mildew.
