FAQs

Are these shoes true to size?

The Handball Spezial generally follows standard adidas sizing, fitting consistently with other low-profile trainers in the Originals series.

Can I use these for playing handball?

While inspired by 1979 handball shoes, this specific model is intended for lifestyle and casual use rather than competitive court performance.

How do I clean the white leather areas?

Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach which can damage the finish.

Are these trainers waterproof?

No, they are made of premium leather and are not intended for heavy rain or wet conditions.

What is the material of the upper?

The upper is constructed from high-quality smooth leather with soft leather stripes.

Troubleshooting

Leather looks dull after use

Apply a light leather conditioner to restore the shine and maintain material hydration.

Creasing at the toe box

This is normal for smooth leather shoes; use shoe trees when not wearing to help maintain the original shape.

Surface scuffs on the gum sole

Use a white pencil eraser or a damp cloth with mild soap to gently buff away marks on the rubber edge.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High-quality leather construction for durability
Versatile beige and white colorway matches many outfits
Sophisticated design details like metal pin branding
Classic low-profile silhouette provides timeless style

Cons

Not intended for high-intensity gym or sport use
Leather requires specific care compared to synthetic materials
Light colorway is prone to showing dirt more easily

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These trainers are designed to be worn out of the box with standard lacing configurations. For care, keep the leather supple by wiping the shoes down with a clean, damp cloth after wear to prevent dust buildup. Avoid machine washing or submerging the leather in water, as this can damage the material and the adhesive integrity of the gum sole. For deeper cleaning, use a specialized leather cleaner recommended for smooth leather finishes. Always store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration of the leather and rubber components.
