Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Installing your Rae Pleated Stripe Drum Ceiling Lamp Shade is designed to be straightforward and tool-free.
- Unpack: Carefully remove the lampshade from its packaging.
- Identify Fixture Type: Determine if you are fitting it to a ceiling pendant or an existing lamp base.
- Attach to Pendant/Lamp: Gently slide the central ring of the lampshade over your existing light fixture's bulb holder. The easy-fit mechanism typically involves a standard ring that secures by twisting or simply resting on the holder, held by the bulb itself. Ensure it sits securely and is level.
- Insert Bulb: Screw in your light bulb (not included) into the fixture.
Compatibility
This lampshade is an easy-fit design, meaning it's compatible with most standard ceiling pendant fittings and lamp bases that use a typical bulb holder ring. It does not require special wiring or a specific lamp type beyond a standard light fixture. Ensure your bulb's wattage and size are appropriate for the lampshade to prevent overheating and ensure a proper fit.
Care
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your lampshade:
- Dusting: Regularly dust the exterior using a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster. For deeper dust accumulation within the pleats, a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner can be used carefully.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor marks or spots, gently dab the affected area with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this may distort the fabric or pleats.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the fabric and color.
- Handle with Care: Always handle the lampshade by its frame to avoid creasing or damaging the pleated fabric.
