Product Information

Full details

The ValueLights Shaw Rechargeable Ceiling Pendant Light Fitting is an ideal lighting solution for homeowners and renters who want to add decorative overhead lighting without the need for complex electrical work. Its key benefit is the completely cordless, wire-free installation, allowing you to place it anywhere in your home, from living rooms to bedrooms. However, users should note that as a rechargeable device, it requires periodic maintenance to charge the internal battery, making it better suited for accent or supplemental lighting rather than primary task lighting in high-traffic areas.

FAQs

Do I need an electrician to install this?

No, the pendant is specifically designed for cordless, DIY installation.

Can I use any lampshade with this fitting?

Yes, it is designed to be compatible with most standard lampshades so you can personalize the look.

How long does the battery last on a single charge?

Battery life depends on usage frequency and brightness settings; we recommend recharging periodically as you would with other rechargeable electronic devices.

Is the gold finish prone to scratching?

Like most metal finishes, it should be handled with care; use a soft cloth to clean it and avoid sharp objects.

Can this be used outdoors?

No, this product is intended for indoor use only in dry environments.

Troubleshooting

Remote control is not responding

Check if the battery in the remote control is dead and replace it; ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the light sensor.

Light brightness is fading

The internal rechargeable battery is likely low; remove the battery unit from the pendant and charge it fully using the provided equipment.

Fixture feels loose on the ceiling

Check that the mounting screws are tightened securely into the ceiling anchor or joist.

Pros and Cons

Pros

No electrical wiring or complex installation required
Compatible with a wide variety of third-party lampshades
Modern gold finish suits many decor styles
Convenient remote control functionality
Ideal for rental properties and temporary installations

Cons

Requires periodic recharging of the battery
Not a replacement for high-output, hardwired main lighting
Requires physical access to the unit for charging

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation involves securing the ceiling mount to your chosen surface. Since there is no wiring, you simply need to ensure the surface can support the weight of the fixture and your chosen lampshade.

Compatibility: The fitting is designed to accept most standard pendant lampshades. Ensure your chosen shade weight is within the manufacturer's suggested limits to prevent strain on the cable.

Care: Keep the unit clean by wiping the gold finish with a soft, dry cloth to prevent fingerprints or dust buildup. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents which may tarnish the gold coating. Ensure the battery is fully charged before long periods of non-use to maintain battery health.
