Full details

The Regatta Outdoor Active Waterproof Changing Robe is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, wild swimmers, and beachgoers who need a reliable way to change comfortably and stay warm after being in the water. Featuring a protective Hydrafort waterproof outer shell and a soft, absorbent towelled lining, it excels at shielding you from harsh winds and rain. While it offers excellent versatility for changing on the move, users should note that the loose fit is intentionally spacious to allow for movement, which may feel bulky if you are looking for a slim-fitting jacket.

FAQs

Is this robe machine washable?

Yes, you can machine wash the robe on a gentle, cool cycle. We recommend avoiding harsh detergents and fabric softeners.

Can I use this for winter swimming?

Absolutely. The combination of the waterproof shell and the absorbent inner lining is specifically designed to keep you warm and dry in cold, wet conditions.

How do I choose the right size?

The robe is designed with a loose, oversized fit to facilitate changing underneath. We recommend selecting your normal size unless you prefer a significantly more fitted look.

Does the robe come with a hood?

The design focuses on the waterproof shell and towelled lining; please refer to the specific variant imagery to confirm the presence of a hood.

Is the fabric breathable?

Yes, the Hydrafort fabric is designed to offer a balance between waterproof protection and breathability for active outdoor use.

How should I dry the robe after a swim?

Hang it up in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources to allow the moisture in the lining to evaporate naturally.

Troubleshooting

The zip feels stiff or difficult to operate

Check the zipper track for sand or debris. Clean with a damp cloth and apply a small amount of silicone-based zipper lubricant if necessary.

Outer fabric seems to be soaking through

The waterproof coating may need refreshing. Use a specialized DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray treatment following the manufacturer's guidelines.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-quality waterproof outer shell offers excellent protection against the elements.
  • Internal lining is soft, warm, and highly absorbent for post-swim comfort.
  • Spacious design allows for effortless changing in public or open spaces.
  • Full-zip closure makes it easy to use and provides ventilation options.

Cons

  • The intentionally loose fit may feel oversized if used solely as a regular jacket.
  • Requires more drying time than thinner outer layers due to the absorbent lining.
  • Available in limited size increments depending on the specific model variant.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

There is no setup required for the Regatta Changing Robe; it is ready to use immediately upon delivery.

Care Instructions

  • Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can diminish the waterproof properties of the outer shell.
  • Drying: Air dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying or direct heat sources like radiators, as high heat can damage the waterproof coating and lining fibers.
  • Storage: Ensure the robe is completely dry before folding and storing to prevent mildew growth inside the towelling material.
