These boots are specifically engineered for natural grass surfaces. Using them on artificial turf may cause premature wear.
The Mercurial Vapor 17 has a streamlined, snug fit. We recommend wearing them with your preferred football socks when trying them on to simulate game-day conditions.
No, you should never machine wash football boots. The heat and agitation can damage the materials and bonding agents.
Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture from the inside and let them air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area.
Keeping them clean and dry is the best protection. You can use a leather conditioner periodically to keep the material supple.
Leather tends to soften and mold to the foot over time. Wear them during shorter training sessions initially to allow for a proper break-in period.
Use a specialized boot brush or a stiff-bristled brush to clear the studs after every game to maintain consistent traction.
After cleaning and drying, gently massage the leather to restore flexibility, or use a leather-safe conditioner if necessary.
For the best performance, ensure your boots are sized correctly; the snug, performance-fit design means they should feel secure without pinching. These boots are intended for use on natural grass surfaces; using them on high-abrasion surfaces like hard artificial turf may significantly reduce the lifespan of the outsole. To maintain the leather upper, wipe away mud and debris immediately after each match using a soft cloth or brush. Allow the boots to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the leather to crack and the adhesive to weaken.
