Full details

The Nike Mercurial Vapor 17 Club Firm Ground Football Boots are engineered for adult male players who prioritize speed and agility on natural grass surfaces. Featuring a streamlined profile for a lightweight feel, these boots provide essential traction for rapid acceleration and quick turns. While they offer excellent performance on dry grass pitches, they are specifically optimized for firm ground conditions and may not provide optimal grip on artificial turf or soft, muddy fields.

FAQs

Can I use these boots on artificial grass?

These are designed for firm, natural grass. Using them on artificial surfaces may cause premature wear and void warranties.

How do I find my size?

This model is based on UK adult sizing. It is recommended to measure your foot and compare it to the Nike size chart.

Are these suitable for wide feet?

The Mercurial range generally features a snug, streamlined fit. Players with very wide feet may find them tight initially.

What is the best way to store them?

Store them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent the materials from drying out or discoloring.

Do these require a break-in period?

Like most high-performance football boots, it is recommended to wear them in during a few light training sessions before a competitive match.

Troubleshooting

Accumulation of mud in studs

Use a specialized boot brush or a dull plastic tool to gently remove debris after every game to maintain traction.

Boots feel slippery on damp ground

The firm ground soleplate is designed for dry surfaces; avoid using these boots on wet or slippery pitches for safety.

Loss of fit or shape

Stuff the boots with newspaper after cleaning to absorb moisture and maintain the original shape while they air dry.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To get the most out of your Nike Mercurial Vapor 17 boots, ensure you are wearing the correct UK size, specifically 10.5 for this variant.

Setup: Loosen the laces completely before inserting your foot to prevent undue stress on the heel counter.
Compatibility: Use these exclusively on firm, natural grass surfaces. Avoid using them on concrete or extremely soft mud as this can damage the studs and shorten the boot's lifespan.
Care: After each session, wipe away loose dirt with a soft brush or damp cloth. Do not put them in a washing machine or dryer. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators to prevent material warping.
