Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
As these boots feature a laceless construction, ensure you choose the correct size for a snug yet comfortable fit. To put them on:
- Loosen the collar (if applicable): Some laceless boots have slightly more flexible collars. Gently stretch the opening.
- Slide your foot in: Use the pull tabs at the heel and tongue to guide your foot in. It may feel tight initially, which is normal for a laceless design.
- Ensure a snug fit: Your foot should feel securely held without excessive pressure points or heel slip. Walk around to confirm the fit.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are designed for Firm Ground (FG). This means they are ideal for natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp. Using them on artificial grass (AG), turf (TF), or hard ground (HG) surfaces can lead to premature wear of the studs and potentially cause discomfort or injury.
- Foot Type: Laceless boots generally offer a snug fit. Players with wider feet may find them initially tight, so trying them on before purchase is recommended.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your boots and maintains their performance:
- After each use: Remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing which can damage the synthetic material.
- Cleaning: Wipe the entire boot with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. For stubborn stains, a specialized boot cleaner can be used. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Drying: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help them retain their shape. Air dry them at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use strong detergents, bleach, or solvents as these can damage the synthetic upper and outsole.
