The Karen Millen Petite Pleated Maxi Dress is an elegant formal garment tailored specifically for women with a shorter frame who desire a sculptural, architectural silhouette for black-tie events or evening galas. It features a unique fan-pleated bodice and flowing maxi skirt, offering a sophisticated aesthetic that balances structure with grace; however, due to its strapless design and intricate pleating, it requires careful handling and specific styling considerations to maintain its form.

This garment is specifically designed with petite proportions. While it may fit, the waist placement and overall length are calibrated for shorter frames.
Given the strapless, structured bodice, a strapless, supportive base layer is recommended for maximum comfort and silhouette retention.
Due to the intricate fan-pleating and structural elements, we recommend professional dry cleaning only to maintain the shape of the fabric.
Yes, this style is available in a range of UK sizes from 4 to 16 to accommodate different silhouettes within the petite category.
The bodice is designed to be the centerpiece of the look. Keeping the neckline clear is suggested, focusing instead on earrings or a bracelet.
Ensure the garment is correctly sized for your frame; consider using professional-grade fashion tape to secure the inner trim to the skin for additional stability.
Avoid heavy pressing. Use a professional garment steamer from a distance to gently release wrinkles without crushing the pleat structure.
To maintain the architectural quality of this garment, proper care is essential. When putting the dress on, ensure the bodice is secured correctly to prevent slipping. For storage, the dress should ideally be hung in a garment bag that allows for enough vertical space so the pleated maxi skirt does not sit crushed against the floor. Avoid ironing directly over the pleated bodice or ruffle sections, as this can flatten the sculptural texture. If the dress requires cleaning, always refer to the garment's internal care label, and given the complexity of the fabric construction, professional dry cleaning is highly recommended to preserve the integrity of the pleats.
