FAQs
Can I install this awning by myself?
No, it is highly recommended to have two people during assembly and mounting to safely handle the frame and ensure proper alignment.
Does the LED lighting require batteries?
No, the integrated LED strips are powered by a solar panel that collects energy during the day.
Is the fabric waterproof?
The high-density polyester is designed to provide shade and protection from UV rays; however, it is primarily an awning, not a fully waterproof shelter for heavy rain.
What tools are needed for setup?
The assembly is designed for simplicity, requiring only a screwdriver for the basic configuration.
Can the awning be left out in winter?
While the frame is weather-resistant, it is best practice to keep the awning retracted during the winter or harsh storms to prolong the lifespan of the fabric.
How do I clean the white fabric?
Use a soft brush to remove dust and a damp cloth with mild soap for spot cleaning. Avoid pressure washers or abrasive scrubbers.
Troubleshooting
LED lights not turning on at night
Ensure the solar panel is positioned in direct sunlight during the day and check that the connection between the lights and the panel is secure.
Awning is difficult to extend or retract
Check the manual arm mechanism for any obstructions or debris and ensure the mounting bolts are not over-tightened, which can cause friction.
Fabric appears loose or sagging
Adjust the tension of the arm supports to ensure the fabric remains taut, or verify that the mounting brackets are level.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the vidaXL Retractable Awning is straightforward but strictly requires two people to ensure safety during the mounting process. You will primarily need a standard screwdriver for assembly. Ensure your wall surface is solid enough to support the tension and weight of the metal frame.
For ongoing care, keep the fabric clean by brushing off loose debris and wiping it down with a damp cloth as needed. During extreme weather events, such as high winds or heavy storms, ensure the awning is fully retracted to prevent damage to the frame or fabric. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these may degrade the UV-resistant coating of the polyester material.
