Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first use, fully unlace the boots and then re-lace them, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. The `streamlined lacing system` allows for precise tension adjustment. Focus on securing the midfoot without overtightening around the ankle.
- Break-in: Although designed for `slip-on comfort`, a short break-in period of 1-2 light training sessions can help the boots mold to your feet, enhancing overall comfort and performance.
Compatibility
These PUMA King Match boots are explicitly designed for FG/AG (Firm Ground/Artificial Ground) surfaces. This means they are suitable for playing on natural grass pitches that are firm and dry, as well as on various types of artificial turf. They are not recommended for soft ground (SG) pitches, as the stud configuration is not optimized for very muddy or wet conditions.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove excess mud and debris using a soft brush or a damp cloth. For tougher grime, a mild soap solution can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources (like radiators or in direct sunlight) as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help maintain their shape and absorb any residual moisture.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash or tumble dry your football boots, as this can severely damage them.
