FAQs
What does 'FG' stand for on these boots?
FG stands for Firm Ground. These boots are designed for use on natural, dry, or slightly damp grass pitches.
How do I clean my PUMA FUTURE 9 ULTIMATE boots?
Wipe them clean with a damp cloth and a soft brush to remove dirt. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
Are these boots suitable for artificial turf?
No, the FG soleplate is not optimized for artificial turf. Using them on artificial surfaces may reduce traction and potentially damage the studs.
What is the main advantage of the FUZIONFIT upper?
The FUZIONFIT upper provides a secure, adaptive fit that feels like a second skin, enhancing comfort and allowing for greater freedom of movement and creativity.
How does GripControl Pro help my game?
GripControl Pro features targeted 3D grip zones on the boot's upper that give you more control over the ball, improving your ability to dribble, pass, and shoot accurately.
Can I use these boots if I have wide feet?
The FUZIONFIT upper is designed to adapt to various foot shapes, but if you have significantly wide feet, it's recommended to try them on first to ensure a comfortable fit.
What is the lifespan of the studs on an FG boot?
The lifespan of FG studs depends on playing surface, frequency of use, and maintenance. Regular cleaning and avoiding abrasive surfaces can help prolong their life.
Troubleshooting
Boots feel too tight or uncomfortable
The FUZIONFIT upper is designed to adapt. Wear the boots for short periods initially, gradually increasing the duration. Ensure laces are not tied too tightly. If discomfort persists after break-in, consider if the size is appropriate.
Lack of traction on wet grass
These boots are designed for firm ground (FG). For wet or muddy pitches, consider using a boot with an appropriate soleplate (e.g., SG - Soft Ground) or waiting for the pitch conditions to improve.
GripControl Pro zones seem ineffective
Ensure the boots are clean. The grip zones work best when free from mud and debris. The effectiveness is most noticeable during dribbling and close ball control.
Soleplate studs feel worn quickly
Firm ground studs are designed for hard surfaces and will naturally show wear over time. Avoid using them on abrasive surfaces like concrete or asphalt. Store and clean them properly to maximize lifespan.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
These football boots are designed for immediate use on firm ground (FG) pitches. Ensure you have the correct size for a snug, comfortable fit. The FUZIONFIT upper will mold to your foot over time with wear.
Compatibility:
- Pitch Type: Primarily designed for firm, natural grass pitches. Not recommended for artificial turf (AG), hard ground, or very wet/muddy conditions.
- Player Type: Best suited for players who emphasize technical skill, agility, and creativity in their game, such as midfielders and forwards.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove excess dirt and mud with a soft brush or a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, preferably in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage.
- Laces: Ensure laces are tied securely but not excessively tight during play to maintain comfort and the integrity of the upper.
