FAQs
What age group is Size 4 football typically for?
Size 4 footballs are generally recommended for players aged 8 to 12 years. Always confirm with local league or competition rules, as requirements can vary.
How do I maintain the ball's shape and air pressure?
Regularly check and maintain the recommended air pressure using a pressure gauge. Store the ball in a cool, dry place, and consider slightly deflating it for long-term storage.
Can this ball be used in wet conditions?
Yes, the durable casing is suitable for various conditions, but it's best to wipe the ball dry after use in wet conditions to prevent material degradation and ensure longevity.
What is the difference between this training ball and a match ball?
Training balls like the Nike Phantom are built for durability and consistent performance during practice. Match balls are often made with higher-grade materials for optimal feel, responsiveness, and adherence to official competition standards.
How should I clean the Nike Phantom Football?
Use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaking the ball, as this can damage the materials and internal bladder.
What are the materials used in this football?
The ball is constructed from 60% rubber, 15% polyurethane, 13% polyester, and 12% ethylene vinyl acetate.
Troubleshooting
Ball won't inflate
Ensure the pump needle is fully inserted into the valve. Check for any obstructions in the valve. Use a slightly lubricated needle if insertion is difficult.
Ball loses air quickly
Check the valve for leaks or damage. Ensure the pump needle was not left in the valve after inflation. If the issue persists, the bladder may be compromised, and the ball may need replacement.
Ball feels misshapen
Ensure the ball is inflated to the correct pressure. If the shape does not correct itself after proper inflation, there might be an internal issue with the bladder or construction.
Graphics are fading
Avoid excessive scrubbing during cleaning. Store the ball away from prolonged direct sunlight, which can degrade printed graphics over time.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Inflation: The ball arrives deflated. Use a standard needle pump to inflate to the recommended pressure (typically found printed near the valve, usually between 6-8 PSI). Do not overinflate.
Compatibility:
- Pitch Types: Suitable for use on grass, artificial turf, and firm ground surfaces.
- Age/League Appropriateness: Size 4 is recommended for players aged 8-12 years or as per specific league regulations.
Care:
- Cleaning: After use, wipe the ball clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the casing.
- Storage: Store the ball in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Deflating the ball slightly for long-term storage can help preserve the bladder.
- Maintenance: Regularly check inflation levels and ensure the valve is clear of debris.
