The standard version has a regular fit. Those with wider feet may find the upper snug and might benefit from going up a half-size.
Yes, the Pegasus series is widely considered a staple for daily training and long-distance road running.
If you generally wear a standard UK 8 in athletic shoes, these should provide the expected fit, accounting for standard swelling during exercise.
The upper is designed for breathability, not waterproofing; it is best to avoid heavy rain to keep your feet dry.
Yes, the internal sockliner can be removed if you need to insert custom orthotics.
While comfortable out of the box, the foam cushioning typically feels more natural after 10-15 miles of use.
Loosen the laces across the midfoot area and consider a lacing pattern that avoids pressure points.
Ensure the laces are pulled tight and consider using the top eyelet to create a runner's loop for extra heel security.
Use a dry toothbrush to gently dislodge pebbles or mud from the grooves in the rubber sole.
To ensure the longevity of your Nike Pegasus 40, begin by adjusting the laces to match your preferred tension across the midfoot. These trainers run true to size; ensure you have roughly a thumb's width of space at the toe. When cleaning, avoid the washing machine. Instead, use a soft-bristled brush or a cloth dipped in mild soapy water to remove dirt from the outsole. Always air-dry your shoes away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the cushioning materials and cause the glue to degrade.
