Setup
Simply slip on your Birkenstock Boston clogs. While they are ready to wear, a brief break-in period is recommended to allow the cork-latex footbed to mold to your foot's unique shape. Wear them for short durations (1-2 hours) each day for the first few weeks, gradually increasing wear time until they feel perfectly comfortable and customized to your feet.
Compatibility
These clogs are highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of casual attire, including jeans, chinos, shorts, and loungewear. The natural 'mink' brown color of the suede offers a neutral tone that pairs well with many wardrobe choices. They are suitable for indoor and dry outdoor environments.
Care
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Birkenstock Boston clogs, proper care is essential:
- Suede Upper: Use a dedicated suede brush to gently remove surface dirt and restore the nap of the suede. For tougher stains, use a specialized suede cleaner according to its instructions. Avoid harsh scrubbing, and always brush in one direction. Protect from water and stains with a suitable suede protector spray.
- Shearling Lining: The shearling naturally regulates temperature. To clean, gently brush or use a damp cloth with a very mild soap solution. Allow the lining to air dry completely away from direct heat sources.
- Footbed: If the footbed becomes dirty, wipe it gently with a damp cloth. To combat odors, allow your clogs to air out thoroughly after each wear. For persistent odors, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the footbed overnight and brush it out in the morning.
- General Care: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat, which can dry out and crack the cork. Do not machine wash or submerge your clogs in water.
