Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Birkenstocks last, proper care is essential. Since these feature a suede upper, avoid wearing them in heavy rain or deep mud, as excessive water can stain and damage the texture. If the suede gets dirty, use a specialized soft-bristle brush to gently remove surface debris. For the footbed, occasional cleaning with a mild, non-abrasive soap solution and a damp cloth is sufficient. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, as high heat can warp the cork footbed and shrink the shearling. When first wearing them, do so for short intervals to allow the footbed to soften and conform to your foot shape gradually.
