Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use:
Upon receiving your Merrell Intercept Walking Shoes, unlace them fully and insert your foot. Adjust the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit that allows for natural foot movement without excessive pressure points. Walk around indoors for a short period to assess the fit and feel. Leather shoes may require a short break-in period to fully mold to your feet, improving comfort over time.
Compatibility:
These shoes are designed for general outdoor walking and hiking. They pair well with standard hiking socks for optimal comfort and moisture wicking. Their robust design is compatible with various terrains, from urban parks to moderate hiking trails.
Care & Maintenance:
- Cleaning: After use, especially if dirty, brush off loose dirt with a soft brush. For stubborn dirt, use a damp cloth and a mild leather cleaner if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a quality leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. Follow the conditioner manufacturer's instructions.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Water Resistance: As this variant is non-waterproof, consider applying a leather protector spray for minor splash resistance, but note this will not make them waterproof.
