FAQs

Are these shoes water-resistant?

The suede upper is naturally porous. It is highly recommended to use a protective water-repellent spray to increase resistance to light rain.

Can I put these in the washing machine?

No, you should never put suede shoes in a washing machine as it will damage the material and the structural integrity of the shoe.

How do I maintain the shape of the shoes?

Using wooden shoe trees when the shoes are not being worn helps absorb moisture and maintains the intended silhouette.

Are the insoles removable?

The shoes feature an anatomical footbed integrated into the design. It is not recommended to remove it as it is essential to the shoe's support system.

What should I do if I spill liquid on the suede?

Blot the liquid immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can push the stain deeper into the fibers.

Is the sizing consistent with other Clarks models?

Yes, the Meare Walla generally follows standard Clarks sizing; however, individual foot width can influence the fit.

Troubleshooting

Suede appears matted or shiny

Use a soft suede brush to gently lift the fibers back up, or a suede eraser to buff out matted spots.

Light dirt marks on the surface

Allow the dirt to dry completely and then lightly brush it off with a dry suede brush.

Pros and Cons

Not intended for heavy-duty outdoor or rough terrain use

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Clarks Originals remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:

Initial Protection: Treat the suede with a high-quality suede-specific water and stain repellent spray before the first wear.
Cleaning: Use a specialized suede brush to remove surface dust and dirt gently. Always brush in the same direction to maintain the nap.
Moisture Control: If the shoes become wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp or stiffen the suede.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and use shoe trees to help the shoes retain their shape when not in use.
Compatibility: These shoes fit true to standard adult sizing, but due to the suede material, consider that they may slightly stretch and mold to your foot shape over the first few wears.
