The adidas Originals Taekwondo Mei is a heritage-inspired low-profile shoe designed for fashion-conscious adults seeking a blend of martial arts aesthetics and contemporary casual style. These ballet-like flats provide a sleek, minimalist look perfect for daily wear, though their thin sole design offers less impact protection than traditional athletic sneakers.

No, these are fashion-focused shoes inspired by martial arts and do not offer the support or impact protection required for intense athletic training.
The Taekwondo Mei features a slim, ballet-like fit; if you prefer more room in the toe box, consider the typical fit of slim-profile heritage shoes.
Use a specialized leather cleaner and a soft cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid submerging the shoes in water.
Yes, you can replace the laces with standard flat or round laces of similar length if you wish to change the look.
Due to the thin, low-profile sole, they provide less cushioning than thick-soled sneakers, so they are best suited for moderate activity levels.
Re-lace the shoes using the alternative eyelet patterns to increase tension across the midfoot.
Gently wipe with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and allow to air dry away from direct sunlight.
To ensure your shoes maintain their look, keep them away from excessive water and harsh cleaning chemicals. Use a soft, dry brush to remove surface dust from the leather. For scuffs, use a leather-appropriate cleaner applied with a soft cloth. When lacing, experiment with the different eyelet configurations provided by the design to find the balance between aesthetic preference and foot security. Store the shoes in a cool, dry place to prevent the leather from drying out over time.
