FAQs

What is DryVent 2L fabric?

DryVent 2L is a waterproof and breathable technology used by The North Face. The '2L' refers to a two-layer construction that makes the fabric waterproof and windproof while allowing internal moisture vapor to escape.

Is the jacket suitable for heavy rain?

The jacket is designed for waterproof protection and is suitable for moderate to heavy rain. Its seam-sealed construction and storm flap enhance its ability to keep water out.

How do I determine my size?

Refer to the size guide provided, which includes chest measurements (in cm). Compare your own measurements to find the best fit for the regular fit of the jacket.

Can I wear this in cold weather?

The Antora Jacket is primarily a shell. It provides wind and water protection but little insulation. It can be worn over insulating layers like fleece or down for warmth in colder conditions.

What does 'non-PFC DWR finish' mean?

This indicates the jacket has a durable water repellent treatment that does not use perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), making it a more environmentally conscious choice.

How should I clean the jacket to maintain its waterproofness?

Machine wash on a gentle cycle with liquid detergent at 40°C or below, with zippers and Velcro closed. Avoid fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low heat. Reapply a DWR treatment if water no longer beads on the surface.

Are the pockets insulated?

The hand pockets are lined but not insulated. They provide protection for your hands from wind and rain and secure storage for items.

Troubleshooting

Jacket is no longer shedding water effectively.

The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish may have worn off. Clean the jacket according to care instructions and consider reapplying a DWR treatment following the product's specific guidelines.

Zipper is difficult to operate.

Ensure there is no fabric caught in the zipper teeth. Gently try to pull the fabric away. If the zipper is stiff, a small amount of graphite from a pencil rubbed on the teeth can help. Always close zips before washing.

Jacket feels clammy inside despite being dry outside.

This can occur if the breathability is compromised. Ensure the jacket is clean, as dirt and oils can block the pores of the membrane. Check that the inner lining is not saturated from sweat.

Hood drawcord is not tightening properly.

Check that the cord locks are functioning correctly. Ensure the drawcord is not frayed or tangled. If damaged, the cord may need replacement.
