FAQs

Is the jacket fully waterproof?

The jacket features a TPU membrane which offers significant wind and rain protection, but it is classified as water-resistant rather than fully seam-sealed waterproof.

Can the hood be removed?

No, the hood is a 'grown-on' design, meaning it is permanently attached to the jacket for maximum protection.

What is the material composition?

The jacket is constructed from high-quality polyester, designed for both durability and comfort.

How should I wash this jacket?

We recommend a gentle machine wash at a low temperature to protect the TPU membrane and padding. Always zip up all pockets before washing.

Will this jacket fit a medium-sized person?

This specific unit is a size Small. Please refer to your personal measurements to ensure a proper fit, as fit preferences vary between individuals.

Troubleshooting

Drafts entering from the bottom

Tighten the drawcord at the hem until it fits snugly against your hips to seal the jacket.

Zippers feeling stiff

Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper teeth and consider using a dry silicone lubricant if stiffness persists.

Loss of water repellency

Re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray specifically designed for synthetic technical fabrics after thorough cleaning.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Integrated TPU membrane enhances weather protection
Comprehensive pocket storage for everyday essentials
Adjustable hem helps retain body heat
Durable polyester construction
Versatile design suitable for casual and outdoor settings

Cons

Not intended for extreme mountain downpours
Padding adds bulk, making it less packable than ultralight shells
Hand wash or specific care may be required to maintain membrane integrity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Trespass Deffords jacket, avoid harsh detergents that could compromise the TPU membrane. Always consult the internal care label, but generally, a gentle wash cycle at low temperatures is recommended. When storing, hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger to maintain the loft of the padding rather than compressing it in a storage bin. The jacket is compatible with standard layering systems; its regular fit allows for a light fleece or base layer underneath without restricting movement.
