FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for sports?
While they are comfortable enough for playground activity, they are primarily designed as school trainers for daily wear.
How do I determine the right size?
We recommend measuring your child's foot in centimeters or inches and comparing it to the UK size chart provided by Kickers.
Can these be machine washed?
No, machine washing can damage the leather and the adhesives; please use only manual cleaning methods.
Do the straps wear out quickly?
With proper care—such as keeping them free of debris—the straps are designed to last for the duration of the school year.
Are these shoes waterproof?
The leather provides some water resistance against light rain, but they are not fully waterproof or submersible.
Troubleshooting
Straps not staying fastened
Clean any lint or debris from the hook-and-loop material using a stiff-bristled brush.
Scuff marks on the leather
Apply a small amount of black shoe cream or polish to the scuffed area and buff with a soft cloth.
Shoes feel tight
Ensure socks are not too thick and verify the fit as children's feet grow quickly; consider upgrading to the next half-size.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
These trainers are designed for immediate wear right out of the box. To ensure the longest lifespan for your child's Mervan trainers, follow these maintenance tips:
- Cleaning: Wipe the leather upper with a damp cloth after school if exposed to mud or dirt.
- Polish: Use a high-quality black shoe polish periodically to restore the finish and provide extra protection against scuffs.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources, which can cause the leather to crack.
- Fit Check: Periodically check that the hook-and-loop straps still provide a firm grip; if they accumulate debris, use a small brush to clean the fasteners for optimal adhesion.
