Product Information

Full details

The CP Company DD Shell Sn64 is a premium, lightweight down jacket engineered for the modern urbanite who requires high-performance insulation without the bulk of traditional puffer designs. By utilizing a unique Direct Down Injection process, this jacket offers an exceptionally soft, low-profile fit that layers easily under outer shells or stands alone as a wind-resistant piece. While it excels in warmth-to-weight ratio and style, users should note that its seven-denier ripstop fabric is designed for city environments rather than heavy-duty outdoor mountaineering.

FAQs

Is this jacket waterproof?

The seven-denier ripstop shell is treated to be wind and rain-resistant, providing protection in light to moderate conditions, but it is not a fully waterproof rain jacket.

How should I store the jacket in summer?

Store it in a breathable garment bag on a quality hanger to ensure the down does not remain compressed for extended periods.

Can I wash this in a standard washing machine?

It is highly recommended to follow the professional care instructions provided on the internal tag, as improper machine washing can damage the Direct Down Injection construction.

Is the hood removable?

No, the hood is integrated into the design of the jacket for optimal protection against wind and rain.

What does 'Direct Down Injection' mean?

It is a manufacturing technique where the down insulation is placed directly inside the outer fabric shell, eliminating the need for an inner lining and extra baffle stitching, which reduces weight and bulk.

Troubleshooting

Small feathers appearing on the surface

This is common with down-filled garments. Gently pull the feather back into the jacket from the inside; do not pull it all the way out as this can enlarge the hole.

Jacket feels less 'puffy' than when new

Down can compress over time. Gently shaking the garment can help redistribute the down clusters to restore loft.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely lightweight and low-profile design
Excellent warmth-to-weight ratio for daily layering
Wind and water-resistant ripstop material
Iconic aesthetic with signature sleeve lens
Regular fit that is comfortable across the shoulders

Cons

Not suitable for extreme alpine environments
Delicate seven-denier fabric requires care around sharp objects
Higher price point reflecting premium materials

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This garment requires minimal setup; it is ready to wear immediately. Due to the precision of the Direct Down Injection process, avoid sharp items in pockets that could compromise the integrity of the thin ripstop shell.

Care Instructions:

Always follow the specific care label attached to the inside of the jacket.
When cleaning, use a professional dry cleaner experienced with technical down garments.
If spot cleaning is necessary, use a mild detergent and a damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the fabric coating.
Store in a cool, dry place on a wide-shouldered hanger to maintain the jacket's shape during the off-season.
