Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unroll and Flatten: Upon arrival, unroll the rug in your desired location. It may take 1-2 days for creases to fully flatten. You can expedite this by rolling it in the opposite direction or placing heavy objects on the corners.
- Positioning: For living rooms, place the rug so that at least the front legs of your main furniture (sofa, armchairs) rest on it. In dining areas, ensure all chair legs remain on the rug when pulled out.
- Optional Rug Pad: While the jute backing provides stability, consider a non-slip rug pad for extra cushioning, floor protection, and to prevent any potential slipping on very smooth surfaces like tile or polished concrete.
Compatibility
The San Marino Area Rug's multicolor design and `modern` aesthetic make it highly versatile. It pairs well with:
- Contemporary Decor: Its clean lines and subtle pattern enhance modern furniture and minimalist settings.
- Traditional Interiors: The timeless design can ground classic pieces, adding a fresh twist.
- Eclectic Spaces: Its multicolor palette can serve as a unifying element in rooms with diverse furnishings.
- High-Traffic Areas: Ideal for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and hallways due to its durable construction.
Care
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly with a non-beater bar or high-pile setting to remove dirt and debris, which can wear down fibers.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, white cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain. Use a mild rug cleaner or a solution of mild soap and water. Test in an inconspicuous area first.
- Deep Cleaning: For a more thorough cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended periodically.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause colors to fade over time. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear and exposure.
- Indoor Use Only: This rug is designed for indoor environments. Do not use outdoors or in excessively damp areas.
