FAQs

Is the Buddy Rug machine washable?

Yes, the Buddy Rug is easily machine washable at 40 degrees Celsius. Please follow the care instructions for best results.

Is this rug suitable for homes with pets or children?

Absolutely. Its anti-shedding, stain-resistant, and non-slip properties, combined with its washability and mould/microbe resistance, make it an excellent choice for busy households with pets and children.

Does the Buddy Rug shed?

No, the Buddy Rug features an anti-shedding long pile, so you won't have to worry about loose fibers.

What is the pile height of the rug?

The Buddy Rug has a soft, shaggy pile height of 10mm.

Where is the Buddy Rug manufactured?

The Buddy Rug is 100% designed and manufactured in the UK, and it contains recycled materials.

Do I need an additional rug grip for this rug?

The rug features an advanced grade non-slip rubber backing. However, we recommend using an additional 'Rug Grip Hold' when placing the rug on very smooth surfaces for maximum security and to prevent any potential movement.

What sizes are available for the Buddy Rug?

The Buddy Rug is available in multiple sizes: 60 x 100 cm, 80 x 120 cm, 140 x 200 cm, and a circular option of approx. 100 cm.

Troubleshooting

The rug slides slightly on my smooth floor.

For optimal stability on smooth surfaces like hardwood or tile, we strongly recommend using an additional 'Rug Grip Hold' underneath the Buddy Rug. This will provide extra friction and prevent shifting.

A tough stain won't come out with simple blotting.

Since the rug is machine washable, you can treat stubborn stains by pre-treating them with a mild stain remover suitable for polypropylene before washing the entire rug at 40 degrees Celsius in a washing machine. Always test stain removers on an inconspicuous area first.

The rug's shaggy pile looks flattened or matted in some areas.

Regular vacuuming can help lift and fluff the pile. For stubborn flattened areas, gently brush the pile with your fingers or a soft brush, or try gently shaking the rug if its size permits. Allow it to air out to regain its texture.

The rug has creases or wrinkles after unrolling.

Creases from packaging typically flatten out over a few hours to a day with regular use. You can speed up the process by walking on the rug or placing heavy, flat objects on the creased areas for a short period.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup

Unpack and Unroll: Carefully remove the Buddy Rug from its packaging and unroll it in your desired location.
Flattening: Allow a few hours for any creases from packaging to settle. You can gently walk on it or place heavy, flat objects on the corners to speed up the process.
Placement: Position the rug in your chosen area. Ensure the non-slip backing is in direct contact with the floor.
Smooth Surfaces: For optimal security on *smooth surfaces* (such as hardwood, laminate, or tile), we strongly recommend using a separate 'Rug Grip Hold' underneath the Buddy Rug to prevent any potential shifting. This enhances the inherent non-slip feature.

Compatibility

Location: The Buddy Rug is suitable for virtually any location in the home, including living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens, and even bathrooms due to its mould resistance and washability.
Floor Types: Compatible with most indoor flooring types. For very smooth surfaces, refer to the setup instructions regarding additional rug grip.
Sizes: Available in various sizes to fit different spaces:
`60 x 100 cm (23 x 39 in)`
`80 x 120 cm (31¼ x 47 in)`
`140 x 200 cm (55 x 78¾ in)`
`Circular approx. 100 cm (39 in)`

Care

Regular Cleaning: Vacuum regularly to remove dust and loose debris. The anti-shedding pile means minimal fiber loss.
Spot Cleaning: For small spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth. The stain-resistant properties will help prevent absorption.
Machine Washing: For a deeper clean, the rug is machine washable at 40 degrees Celsius. Do not exceed this temperature to maintain the rug's integrity and colorfastness. Use a mild detergent.
Drying: Air dry your rug flat or hang it to dry. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Do not tumble dry.
Avoid Bleach: Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as this can damage the fibers and affect the colorfastness.
Professional Cleaning: While washable, professional cleaning can be considered periodically for a thorough refresh, especially for larger sizes.
