FAQs

Is this fleece suitable for winter sports?

Yes, it makes an excellent mid-layer under a ski jacket for added warmth.

Can this be worn in the rain?

It is not waterproof. It is best to wear a waterproof jacket over the fleece if rain is expected.

How do I choose the right size?

The sizes provided (e.g., 3-4) correspond to standard UK children's age ranges. If your child is between sizes, it is generally recommended to size up for layering.

What material is the Mitta fleece made from?

It is constructed from high-quality polyester, which is known for its durability and insulating properties.

Does the fleece have a hood?

No, the Mitta Half Zip design features a standard collar rather than a hood.

Troubleshooting

Zip feels stuck or difficult to operate

Check for loose fabric caught in the teeth of the zipper and clear any debris from the track.

Fleece appears to be losing fluffiness

Avoid fabric softeners during laundry, as they coat the fibers and reduce the loft of the fleece.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Easy to put on and take off thanks to the half-zip design
Practical storage pockets for small items
Lightweight and comfortable for active play
Provides effective insulation in a wide range of temperatures

Cons

Not inherently waterproof
Requires a jacket over it during windy or rainy weather
Size range is limited to children's sizing

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: There is no assembly required; simply pull the fleece over the head and use the half-zip to adjust the fit around the neck.

Compatibility: This fleece pairs best with moisture-wicking base layers underneath and a waterproof shell jacket on top during inclement weather.

Care Instructions: To maintain the fleece's insulating properties and material integrity, machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Avoid using harsh fabric softeners that can clog the fibers. Air drying is recommended to prevent shrinkage, though it can typically be tumble dried on a low heat setting if necessary.
