Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Trespass Faithful Parka is straightforward:
- Adjust the Hood: The grown-on hood features adjustable drawcords. Cinch them for a snug fit around your face to maximize protection from wind and rain. The fur trim can be removed if preferred.
- Cinch the Waist: Use the internal drawcord at the waist to tailor the fit. This not only enhances your silhouette but also helps to trap warmth more effectively.
- Utilize Pockets: Familiarize yourself with the two zippered pockets and two patch pockets. The zippered pockets are ideal for securing valuables.
Compatibility
This parka is designed to be a warm outer layer. It is compatible with:
- Base Layers: Wear moisture-wicking base layers underneath for optimal thermal regulation during active use.
- Mid-Layers: On very cold days, you can comfortably wear a light fleece or sweater underneath thanks to its generous fit, without compromising freedom of movement.
- Accessories: Easily pairs with scarves, hats, and gloves for complete cold-weather protection.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your waterproof parka. Always check the specific care label inside your jacket for the most accurate instructions, as materials can vary.
- Washing: Generally, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a technical wash detergent designed for waterproof garments. Avoid conventional detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach, as these can compromise the waterproof and breathable coatings.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or preferably, hang to air dry away from direct heat. Ensure the jacket is completely dry before storing.
- Re-Waterproofing: Over time, the durable water repellent (DWR) finish on the outer fabric may wear off. If water no longer beads up on the surface, consider applying a DWR re-proofing spray or wash-in treatment to restore its water-repellency.
- Fur Trim: If the fur trim is removable, detach it before washing the main jacket. Info needed: [Specific care instructions for the fur trim material]. For synthetic fur, hand washing with mild soap and air drying is often recommended.
