Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Adjustments
Your Trespass Faithful Parka is ready to wear straight out of the package. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with its adjustable features:
- Hood: Adjust the 'grown-on hood' with its drawcords or toggles to ensure a snug fit around your face, optimizing protection from wind and rain. The fur trim is removable; gently detach it via the small buttons or zipper if you prefer a simpler look or for washing.
- Waist: Use the internal drawcord at the waist to cinch the jacket for a more fitted silhouette and to help seal out cold air.
Compatibility
This parka is designed to be a versatile outer layer. It is compatible with:
- Layering: Wear it over base layers and mid-layers for additional warmth in colder conditions. Its padded nature means you might only need a light sweater underneath in milder cold.
- Seasonal Use: Best suited for autumn, winter, and early spring in temperate climates.
Care Instructions
Proper care will maintain the jacket's waterproof and breathable properties and extend its lifespan. Since the lining is fleece, follow these general guidelines:
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and fasten all flaps. Remove the fur trim from the hood if possible.
- Washing: Machine wash cold (30°C/86°F) on a gentle cycle. Use a technical wash for waterproof garments if available, or a mild liquid detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can impair waterproofing and breathability.
- Drying: Do not tumble dry. Hang the jacket to air dry away from direct heat. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.
- Ironing: Do not iron.
- Bleaching: Do not bleach.
- Water Repellency Restoration: Over time, the outer fabric's Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish may wear off. If water no longer beads up on the surface, you can restore it using a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment designed for waterproof clothing.
