Product Information
Full details
The Altura Kielder Trail Gloves are designed for mountain bikers and trail riders who prioritize tactile feedback and handlebar control during technical rides. These unisex, long-fingered gloves offer excellent breathability through a perforated Amara palm and a lightweight construction, making them ideal for warm-weather adventures; however, users seeking high levels of vibration-damping gel padding may find the minimal design lacks the cushioning needed for very long, rough endurance rides.

Troubleshooting
Gloves feel too stiff after washing
Gently stretch the fabric while damp and allow them to air dry naturally to restore flexibility.
Silicone grip on fingers is becoming less effective
Wipe the silicone areas with a damp cloth to remove dried mud, oil, or sweat buildup.
Gloves feel slippery inside the palm
Ensure your hands are clean of heavy sunscreen or lotion before use, as these can create a barrier that reduces the effectiveness of the grip material.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High level of tactile feedback for precise bike handling
- Excellent ventilation thanks to the perforated Amara palm
- Secure fit provided by the integrated neoprene cuff
- Enhanced grip on levers during technical braking sections
Cons
- Minimalist padding may not be suitable for riders who prefer thick gel cushioning
- Not intended for cold-weather riding due to high breathability
- Lacks touchscreen compatibility on fingertips
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Altura Kielder Trail Gloves last throughout the season, follow these simple care guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure the neoprene cuff is pulled snugly over the wrist. The fit should feel secure without being tight enough to restrict circulation.
- Cleaning: Hand wash in cool water using a mild soap. Avoid aggressive scrubbing on the perforated palm material, as this can degrade the fabric structure over time.
- Drying: Air dry away from direct heat sources such as radiators or tumble dryers, which can cause the suede-like material to stiffen or shrink.
- Compatibility: These are unisex gloves compatible with standard mountain bike grips, ergonomic grips, and lock-on handlebar systems. They provide enough flexibility to operate modern trigger shifters and hydraulic brake levers easily.
