FAQs

Is the 680v9 suitable for trail running?

No, this is a road-specific shoe. Its outsole is designed for smooth, hard surfaces rather than uneven or loose terrain.

Does this shoe provide stability for flat feet?

The 680v9 is a neutral trainer. If you have flat feet and require significant stability control, you may want to look for a dedicated stability model.

How long should these shoes last?

Typically, road trainers last between 300 and 500 miles depending on your weight, running surface, and gait.

Are these shoes true to size?

Yes, they generally follow standard UK footwear sizing.

Can I use these for gym workouts?

While intended for running, their stable base makes them suitable for general gym work and light weightlifting.

Troubleshooting

Feeling discomfort in the arch during long runs

The 680v9 is a neutral shoe. If you require more support, consider adding an aftermarket orthotic insole.

Laces coming untied frequently

Use a double knot or a runner's loop (heel lock) to increase security and tension.

Visible dirt on the mesh

Use a soft-bristled brush and mild soap to spot-clean the area; air dry immediately.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Reliable, consistent performance for daily training
Durable outsole capable of handling frequent road use
Clean, functional design without unnecessary extras
Stable support for runners with a neutral gait

Cons

Not suitable for overpronators needing stability features
Limited to road surfaces; not designed for technical trails
Lacks specialized technological gimmicks preferred by some high-end racers

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: To ensure the best fit, lace the trainers snugly but comfortably across the bridge of your foot. Since these are standard UK sizing, ensure you have a thumbnail's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe to prevent discomfort during extended runs.

Compatibility: These shoes are optimized for asphalt, concrete, and synthetic road surfaces. They are not recommended for muddy or loose gravel trails.

Care: Keep your 680v9s clean by wiping the upper mesh with a damp cloth after particularly dirty runs. Avoid submerging them in a washing machine, as this can degrade the foam cushioning. If they become wet inside, stuff them with dry newspaper and let them air dry away from direct heat sources to preserve the adhesive and material flexibility.
