Setup, Compatibility & Care
When you first receive your Birkenstocks, ensure the buckles are adjusted so the straps are snug but not tight. During the first few wears, it is normal for the cork to feel firm; limit initial wear to a few hours at a time to allow the bed to conform to your feet. To care for your sandals, keep them away from excessive heat sources like radiators, as this can dry out the cork. If the footbed becomes soiled, use a slightly damp cloth to wipe it clean and allow it to air dry slowly in the shade. Do not submerge them in water or place them in a washing machine.
