Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your sandals provide long-term comfort, follow these steps:
- Fitting: When you first put on your Oita sandals, adjust the buckle so that the strap feels snug but not restrictive. You should be able to slide a finger between the strap and your foot.
- Breaking-In: The cork footbed will take time to adapt to your specific footprint. Wear them for short durations of 1–2 hours over the first week to allow the material to soften.
- Cleaning: Use a specialized suede brush to remove loose dirt and dust. If stains appear, use a damp cloth with minimal water and allow the sandals to air dry completely.
- Protection: Apply a water-repellent spray designed for suede to add a layer of protection against light dust and moisture. Never dry your sandals directly over a heater, as this will cause the cork and suede to crack or warp.
