Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Salomon XT-6 shoes come ready to wear. The primary 'setup' involves utilizing the Quicklace™ system. To tighten, simply pull the end of the laces until snug, then slide the lace blocker down towards the tongue. Tuck the excess lace into the lace pocket on the tongue to secure it and prevent snagging. To loosen, press the release button on the lace blocker and pull the tongue forward.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for a wide range of outdoor activities including trail running, hiking, and ultra-distance races. They are compatible with various athletic socks, though moisture-wicking materials are recommended for optimal comfort. The UK 6 size is specific to this model; ensure proper fit for your foot length and width.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your XT-6 shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy or dirty conditions, remove loose dirt by tapping the shoes together. Use a soft brush and lukewarm water with a mild soap (if necessary) to clean the upper and outsole. Do not machine wash or use harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators or dryers). Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which can degrade materials over time.
- Quicklace™ Maintenance: Occasionally check the Quicklace system for any debris or wear. If needed, the system can be cleaned with water. Replacement Quicklace kits are available from Salomon if wear occurs.
